Dynamics 365 Enterprise Cloud vs. On Premise Deployment

January 19, 2018 / 0 Comments / in Cloud ERP SaaS, ERP Implementation, Dynamics 365 for Operations, Dynamics 365 Enterprise / by Nancy Phillippi

One of the most common questions we get from prospects is why should they rent Dynamics 365 in the Cloud/SaaS deployment versus purchasing and installing it on premise. This decision should be based on each individual business, however I will say that at this point more customers are moving to the cloud than they are installing the software on-site. Here are some some reasons to utilize the SaaS version of Dynamics 365 Enterprise for Finance and Operations in the Microsoft Cloud.

Inventory Requirements and ERP Selection

Mike Conti has over 20 years experience with helping companies work with business software or ERP (enterprise resource planning).  He took a few minutes and documented some very important issues regarding inventory that should be considered when a business begins evaluating ERP.   As Mike states in his white paper, I have also have heard from prospects numerous times focusing on how long is the field name length of our inventory master file during discovery sales calls.  This is really a mute point since more ERP software solutions have expanded their field lengths or you can extend them easily.   Consider instead the points in Mike's document.

Time to Upgrade...or Not?

July 17, 2017 / 0 Comments / in ERP Implementation / by Hope Enochs

And it is a big question which businesses must ask themselves on a somewhat regular basis, probably more often than they would like. Ultimately the answer to the question is yes and that’s based strictly on the rapid pace with which information technology changes and improves. Most companies skip a version or two of their business systems software releases unless there is a good reason to upgrade, such as support ending or new features in the new releases are important to the business.  With the recent release of Dynamics 365 Enterprise it's hard to ignore the improved processes and the positive impact it could have on companies. Therefore many Dynamics AX customers are upgrading to Dynamics 365 Enteprise or considering it.

The Most Critical Step In ERP Implementation

October 21, 2015 / 0 Comments / in ERP Implementation / by Mike Miller

As CFO, part of your job includes evaluating and advising on the impact of long range planning, along with introduction of new programs and strategies to ensure credibility of the Finance group by providing: timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts. One of the best ways to ensure credibility of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts is to implement an ERP system.

When you're choosing an ERP solution, it's also important to consider the solution provider in order to ensure a successful ERP implementation. By working closely with an experienced ERP vendor, you’ll have all the support you need during and after system implementation. When unexpected errors occur or misunderstandings arise, having an expert by your side is critical. Stability, market presence in region, past successes, expertise, adaptability, and innovation are important considerations to ponder when selecting your vendor.

What adds success to an organization? More than anything I’d say visible, tangible passion: that sparkle in someone’s eyes when they speak about what they do, the excited lilt in someone’s speech when they explain a project. This is the type of response I get when I speak to our managing director, Michael Conti, about Microsoft Dynamics ERP solutions. When I asked him last week, “What’s your favorite part of Microsoft Dynamics AX?” and with a big grin on his face he answered “Dynamics AX's [2012 R3] newest release has the Process Module for manufacturing along with the warehouse management and transportation modules written by Blue Horse. This release is state of the art and gives a sense of awe in it's functionality. In my eyes, Dynamics AX takes the win for Manufacturing companies. This is a great thing for the Clients First customers and prospects since we have many manufacturing customers and target this industry for new sales and support."
